BANGALORE: The year 2011 has been a mixed bag of adventures, more so for us in India. 2012 brings with it new hopes, aspirations, and opportunities. What better way than have a magicians get-together to welcome the New in the most magical way?
And of course, we do have a BIG reason to celebrate!
It is with immense pleasure we announce to the Indian magic fraternity that the International Brotherhood of Magicians (USA) has officially awarded a Ring Charter to Ring No. 177 - Karnataka Ring. The Official Charter duly signed by the International President of the IBM has been duly received by us.
A New Year is as perfect a place and time as any to kick-off the regular and continuing series of Ring meetings and other magical activities, especially with and to the support of the International Brotherhood of Magicians (USA).
Bearing this in mind, the first and inaugural ring meeting will be held on January 8, 2012 at our ring headquarters The Magic Space in Bangalore. With this we also nominate the second Sunday of every month as the recurring meeting day for the IBM Ring 177 - Karnataka Ring.
Among the important things on the agenda is to table and accept the Memorandum of Association of the Ring and elect the office bearers for the year 2012-13. We are currently finalising the programme schedule of the day, that would liven up the proceedings over and above the Ring related activities.
As The Magic Space gears up to make 2012 a very special year filled with magical activities, teach-ins and workshops, we are working closely with them to ensure the IBM members gain the most as they attend the regular meetings clubbed with the activities.
We invite all current IBM Members and also those interested to know more about the benefits of joining a local international Ring of the IBM (USA) to join us on January 8 and make this event a grand success.
Really! What better way to celebrate the New Year than to catch up with fellow magicians and Ring members and have a ball of a time.

March 12 sees revival of Ring 177
The most awaited event is upon us. Yes! This March 12 2011 sees one of the oldest IBM rings in India Ring 177 being revived after a brief period of inactivity.
If the agenda for the curtain raiser was not sensational enough, we have just received more good news!
Mega Magic Star Kuddroli Ganesh and one of the best card workers in India, Sanjay Subramanyam have confirmed their participation at the Ring 177 Curtain Raiser event. It is also expected that international performer Magician Praveen Kumar is also joining the event.

Come! Be a part of the Curtain Raiser to IBM Ring 177
In a bid to revive the long dormant IBM Ring 177 at Bangalore, we are putting a nice one-day magic gathering together on Saturday, March 12 2011.
Thanks are due to The Magic Space under Giridhar Kamath, which has been magnanimous in hosting this event for us at short notice.
We are indebted to our Territorial Vice President - IBM (India) Solyl Kundu who has kindly made last minute changes to his travel plans to accommodate a magical day that among other things features his lecture.
